People who waited for the release of the highly anticipated Halo 3 jumped on the Halo 3 trailer. Actually there were more than one Halo 3 Trailer, downloaded from sites such as Youtube over 100 million times. Even top rated network television shows don’t get those kinds of viewing numbers in the modern entertainment world. The numbers show just how popular Halo 3 would be, and indeed how popular the entire Halo trilogy was.
Expectations grew a lot prior to the Halo 3 trailer. As the final game in the Halo original trilogy, there would be an end to the story told in the first two games. The trailer might contain clues and information about the mystery of the Halo rings, and the Forerunners who had created them. People viewed the trailer looking for answers the way they watch episodes of a show like Lost. It represented a crossover between the world of videogames, an interactive entertainment, and the world of passive entertainment represented by television and the movies.
