The price and size of the 700 are small compared to similar devices, such as CloudBook or Fujitsu Lifebook. Since October 13, 2007 ASUS has changed the specifications, and re-named the ASUS 700 product series as EeePC 8G, 4G, 4G Surf, and 2G Surf instead of the model numbers 700 and 701.
The price of the 700 series is pretty affordable. Pricing for 2G is USD$299, for the 4G Surf USD$349, for the 4G USD$399, for the 8G USD$499.
The ASUS Eee 900 Laptop Series was exhibited in Hong-Kong on April 16, 2008. The 900 series started sales in the UK May 1, 2008 for £329 (approximately USD$650) and on May 12, 2008 in the US for USD$549. The 900 series dimensions are slightly bigger than the 70x ASUS subnotebooks - measuring 225 × 165 × 35 mm (WxDxH), or 9" x 6.5" x 1.37", and weighs approximately 2.21 lbs.
